It was a long walk to the water’s edge, as no one wanted to run and hurry up the inevitable. Captain Hook had sent a long boat to the shore, and Wally stepped into it solemnly. There was no room in the long boat for his team, so they flew silently to the ship.

“You brought friends, I see” Captain Hook said with a sardonic grin, and twirling his mustache just so.

“As did you” Wally said, nodding at the pirate crew. “You have your… Friends… I have mine.”

“You do indeed, and it seems like you grew up very nicely.” Hook said, giving Peter a quick look up and down. It made Peter’s skin crawl.

“Are you creeping on me? Because you are so not my type” Wally said. “For one thing, you’re old and not Black Canary, for another… You’re creepy.”

“Is that really the best you could do?” Robin asked, “seriously, as insults go I am so not whelmed.”

“You and your whelmed” Wally muttered. He reached down to his belt where Peter had always had knives, only to curse at himself when he realized that he hadn’t grabbed any from the treehouse. Okay, he was going to have to beat Captain Hook with only his speed, and what Black Canary had taught him. He could work with this. First, though, to set the stage how he wanted, instead of letting Captain Hook have the home court advantage.

“The fight is going to be between you and me only, right?” He asked, gauging the other pirates. They were armed to the teeth, and could easily jump in if necessary.

“Only you and me, boy” Hook said, pulling his sword out.

“Okay. M’gann, could you please make sure he keeps his word, if you can? The rest of you can help, too, if you want.”

“Of course!” M’gann said, as she got ready to stop anyone from interfering. Kaldur got his water-bearers ready, Artemis set up her bow, and grabbed an arrow, Robin pulled out batarangs, and Conner just punched out side of the railing to show his strength and glared a lot. They then spread out around the ship, ready to attack from all sides. The pirates watched them nervously- they were not really all that afraid of the other kids, but there was something unsettling about them. And one of them had green skin. Not the creepiest thing in the world, when you were used to say, merfolk, but damn.

“The rules” Wally said, circling Hook, “it’s just you and me, no one else.”

“You already said that, boy” Hook said, smirking.

“I wasn’t done” he took a deep breath. If he could get Hook to agree to the second rule, he was good. “The second rule… I left Neverland to grow up. I want the right to use what I learned, and the skills I gained when I did so in this fight. Else what was the point of me growing up in the first place?”

There was a tense silence as Captain Hook thought about what the boy had said. Yes, he had sent the boy to grow up, and now the boy wanted to use what he had learned. What would be the harm?

If the island wasn’t Neverland, if the story wasn’t about Peter Pan versing Captain Hook, if Peter hadn’t been gone long enough that Hook had gotten over-confident… He would have realized the harm. He would have stopped, and thought sensibly about it.

In the end, he was Captain Hook, fighting Peter Pan in Neverland. In the end, he was a man who was obsessed with defeating a child. In the end he was a man who was afraid of a crocodile, and who had a hook for a hand. In the end, Wally was Peter, and Peter was the Heart of Neverland, the reason that Neverland existed.

In the end, Hook’s choice would be obvious. He smiled, and said, “of course you can use whatever you’ve learned, and what skills you’ve gained.” For he did not think that they would be enough.

There was a tense moment as the two stopped for half of a second, and then the fight started in earnest.

Oh, geez! This is so exciting!

And, wow, Hook perving on Wally was startling! I loved Wally's reaction to it. Does Hook notice that Peter/Wally has a different accent and his new weird slang?
